Rene Descartes is reputed to have said: "I think, therefore I am."

My little bit of silliness was a suggestion that his "being" (that is, "I am") was all in his head (since his existence depended on his ability to "think"). I said it in jest. I lack the sophistication (and arrogance) to discuss it intellectually.

Meanwhile ...

I didn't question your being ... I simply expressed my lack of knowledge as to the state of your being. It is not, I suppose, a matter of great moment. Idle curiosity, you might say.

I'll curb it.
