That's just not true. Many interpret the Bible - particularly the New Testament - as preaching love, peace, and brotherhood. How can anyone have a problem with that?

Re: I suppose that is what "god" was really looking for in "writing" this handbook for all seasons. Nothing wrong with the Bible, just with all those greedy eyes and sycophantic mouths "knowing" what "god" meant.

God didn't write the Bible. Some people will claim that God inspired man to write the Bible, but even that can't be correlated to the word-of-mouth means by which the stories were passed down over time - particularly the Old Testament.

I happen to think the New Testament has more to offer in terms of life lessons, which is why I base my beliefs on a more modern, rather than orthodox interpretation of the Bible. You will notice that individual belief systems vary greatly between Christians.
