Another four batches have been analyzed with 196 carats found at the Shore Gold Fort a la Corne exploration site.
Shore (TSXV: SGF) issued a press release Thursday stating 1,005 dry tonnes of kimberlite in the four batches resulted in the recovery of 1,449 stones with a grade of 19.58 carats per hundred tonne. Three large stones – 12.8, 8.3 and 4.5 carats – were recovered, all from the same batch.
These new results bring the total amount of carats recovered to close to 1,590 from about 13,120 dry tonnes of kimberlite in 37 batches. The total amount of carats Shore wants to recover in the project is between 3,000 and 5,000 from 25,000 dry tonnes in about 80 to 100 batches.
These results continue to encourage Shore executives about the quanity, size and quality of the stones in the region.
Shore also announced last week that it has closed the $27.64 million financing deal and that the Steinmetz Diamond Group, through a subsiduary named Magma Diamond Resources, purchased 1.2 million units as part of a private placement agreement with Shore Gold.
Steinmetz is a huge international group of diamond marketing and trading companies with extensive holdings in diamonds, natural resources and real estate.
