Alan Refkin began his securities career in 1976. He was employed at Oppenheimer & Co where he concentrated on special projects, working with a variety of institutional and corporate clients in establishing and attaining transactional goals. Mr. Refkin was recruited in 1983 by Drexel Burnham Lambert where he was employed as a Senior Vice President. During this period he directed a group of 16 professionals within "The Refkin Group." Expanding from a domestic to a global focus. Refkin directed the group until 1988. While at Drexel Burnham Lambert he focused on large private placements and limited partnerships. He was the number one person worldwide in his area for his firm, as well as for his previous firm. For the past 15 years he has served as Managing Director of Thornhill Capital, a global consulting firm providing advisory services to both a corporate and institutional clientele. Thornhill facilitates debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnering and restructuring / recapitalizations and performs due diligence. Thornhill focuses its operations in the United States, Europe and China.
He has served as an advisor to a number of public and private companies and has assisted companies in going public and / or in obtaining growth capital.
Alan Refkin also serves as a publicly elected official from the Miromar Lakes Community Development District in Florida. His term of office is four years.
