You're right. It's called planning your exit. Instead of just dropping all one's shares on the bid, you plan it. Setting an exit and stair stepping the shares in smaller amounts on the way up. All shares end up selling at the ask instead of the bid and the PPS doesn't get destroyed.

Hitting exact bottom's and tops is nice but not really done as much as some would like others to believe.


Don’t gamble; take all your savings and buy some good stock and hold it till it goes up, then sell it. If it don’t go up, don’t buy it.
