EP Global Communications, Inc. and Augmentative Collaboration Service , Parlerai , Form Strategic Alliance

EP Global Communications, Inc. and Parlerai Inc. have entered into a joint marketing agreement to enhance communication and collaboration for caregivers.

JOHNSTOWN, PA. September 22, 2009 – EP Global Communications Inc. (the Company) (OTC: EPGL - News), the parent company of Exceptional Parent (EP) magazine, is pleased to announce today that the Company has formed a strategic alliance with Parlerai Inc. (Parlerai, http://www.parlerai.com), the nation’s first Augmentative Collaboration service. The service is the convergence of assistive technology and social networking allowing parents, children, families, and caregivers to communicate efficiently, effectively, and immediately. EP Global has recognized the value of this type of collaboration in the lives of those with special needs and disabilities and has joined with Parlerai to offer its resources to users of the service and help bring visibility to the benefits of its use.

Kristin and Jon Erickson are the co-founders of Parlerai (French for “shall speak”) and the parents of Karly, a child with special needs. The Ericksons experienced first-hand the trials and tribulations that go along with managing the care of a person with disabilities and found themselves frustrated by a lack of available tools for parents like themselves to track and share information and ultimately collaborate with the people making a difference in Karly’s life. Kristin, an active business and community leader, and Jon, an Internet technologist, saw the opportunity to put the skills they had honed in their careers to use in a way that would profoundly and positively impact the lives of the individuals in their own family, and hopefully the lives of parents around the world. Parlerai augments collaboration by providing innovative Internet tools for parents to use to enhance collaboration with the people who care for their child, including tools that allow the child to collaborate and communicate using the Internet.

As a leader in providing information and resources to the special needs community, EP Global, through the newly formed strategic alliance, will be enhancing the Parlerai user experience by offering each new subscriber a one year subscription to EP Digital Magazine, the publication that has been providing practical advice and the most up-to-date educational information for families of children and adults with disabilities and special healthcare needs as well as the physicians, allied health care professionals, and educational professionals who are involved in their care and development for over 38 years. Additionally, Parlerai will be providing each new subscriber to EP with two months of free service to Parlerai.com, and existing subscribers with one month of free service to Parlerai.com (beginning on October 1, 2009). Now, through this alliance, EP readers and Parlerai users will be receiving a complete package of caregiving resources.

Joseph M. Valenzano, Jr., the President and CEO of EP Global Communications Inc., strongly supports the alliance. “I have been passionately involved in providing the best and most helpful information and support to the special needs community for decades, through EP magazine and the various components of EP Global Communications Inc. Now, as technology allows for greater communication and enhanced connectivity among those who can share valuable information with one another, I am thrilled that innovative individuals with similar goals, like Kristin and Jon Erickson, have collaborated with EP to ensure that we continue to offer our audience all of the tools that they may need in caring for their loved ones.”

The Ericksons also feel confident in the added value that EP brings to their service, and vice versa. As Kristin explains, “we want to help parents and other caregivers provide the best possible quality of life for their children. We know that aligning with EP can help us reach that goal.”
