That's fine. But it would still amount to the same amount of tax money needed. As I said, defense is sucking up most of the tax receipts and if what you would assume as being a normal "consumption and transaction" tax does not cut it, then if that is all that is used to generate the tax receipts then that will continue going up and up and up till no consumption happens which of course kills the economy. So as you can see, that is why we have a system that is not just "consumption and transaction" tax.

OR... as I wrote in a previous post, we do away with the defense budget all together... I sure would love to know how many of the libertarians out there want to see our defense budget cut in half...
