Lots of good explanations that have already been given.

I am a devotee of an American-born Guru by the name of Adi Da
(www.adidam.org) whose Teaching includes (as a base-point) the notion that there is nothing but God. I use the word "namaste" in that sense.

One of the simplest ways to begin to understand that is around the matter of the beating of your heart. Ask your local doctor or scientiest or even ZEEV "who or what beats MY heart
and lives everyone and everything else?". You pretty much draw a blank about that.
