Jim..re..even used when saying "Good Bye" in a reverential mode.
Namaste is Hindi...
other dialects modify it a bit..Namascar is also used in the south of India...
I have heard it used with the following meaning accompanied with a slight bow
"I salute "The Divine' within you"

'Buddha Nature' ... 'The Awakened'..can be used in place of The 'Divine'
