Hi OU,

May I presume that you have a memory card camcorder?
If so the only two solutions are to buy (or rent if possible) additional cards for the trip; or pack along a laptop with sufficient open space on the hard drive and/or a DVD burner.

While we're on this topic:
NEVER HOT PLUG or HOT UNPLUG an IEEE 1394 (iLink or Firewire) cable between the computer and Video device. Yeah, they are supposed to be able to do that and usually do so painlessly, BUT, *sometimes* it will blow out the interface in the camcorder or deck.
That can be a very expensive repair requiring the replacement of the main board in a camcorder. The board itself, less labor, can be well over $1,000.00, and not covered by warranty.
Turn everything off. Even remove the computer's power supply and battery (in the case of a laptop) (or turn off the power supply switch on the back of a desktop or the power bar.) before connecting them.
Ditto for the disconnection.

PITA I know; but better safe than sorry.
