PARIS (Dow Jones)--Franco-U.S. telecommunications equipment company Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) Friday said it has bought back, or agreed to buy back, 15% of its OCEANE convertible bonds maturing Jan 2011.
OCEANE bonds are convertible or exchangeable into new or existing shares.
The company had said it intended to repurchase up to a maximum of 20% of the 2011 OCEANEs, in an operation running concurrently with a EUR1 billion OCEANE bond offering maturing 2015, which was announced Sept. 2.
