Plausible scenario...

Forgetting possible NSS and strictly focusing on the split at hand, here is how it may play out in a positive way.

Step 1: Announce huge split
Step 2: Let market sell off
Step 3: Release the 10K (and come through with 500mm OS)
Step 4: As split date approaches some people realize it is a chance to take a ride to the NASDAQ - price stabilizes.
Step 5: OS becomes 5mm and float even smaller on the NASDAQ.
Step 6: Demand floods the stock but company and longs own the majority.
Step 7: Forward split as price continues to rise (OS 10mm).
Step 8: 10Q released on time with D&T as auditors even more demand
Step 9: Forward split again (OS 20mm)

There is no way this is bad - and this is probably how everything would go if the sales #s are correct and the OS hasn't been tampered with.
