The message Scottrade sent me after cancelling my BBDA buy orders said:

"An open order for symbol BBDA has been cancelled on your account due to a stock split, reorganization, delisting or name/symbol/CUSIP change."

Nothing about PPS or volume spike.

Take your pick:

1. Stock split
2. Reorganization
3. delisting or name/symbol/CUSIP change.
4. Scottrade deliberately sent out false information to investors.
