Apparently, the question has been posited here something along the lines of "What would Jesus do" when faced with a need for torture.

The answer to the question is plain and simple. The only reason for torture (and by the way, blowing cigar smoke in someone's face is not "torture") is to gather important information that a suspect supposedly has, but refuses to divulge.

Jesus would never be in that position. Having all the attributes of God, He knows all that is in the hearts of all men, so He would know the truth without even asking a question.
