I disagree with your assessment comparing the liberals "Hate" to Bush with the religious right "hate" for Clinton. I have yet to see a liberal organization producing a video tape accusing Bush of Murder as Falwell did with Clinton. The scandal of using a personal character flaw of Clinton (the itch behind his zipper) to try and bring down his presidency was driven simply by hate. I traveled a the time in Europe, and my acquaintances just could not understand us, every powerful French leader had at least one "concubine" admitted to (almost) in public, Mitterand's lady was even allowed at his funeral...
The whole affair of perjury was fabricated by the interpretation of Sex, I heard no one complaining about Newt Gingrich saying he had not committed adultery with his secretary (as his wife, was ailing with cancer), because as a southern baptist, both Newt and Bill accepts the teachings of their church, adultery (and thus sex) occurs only if there is penetration. Newt insisted on only oral sex during his infidelity (later he married her) so that he can safely claim he did not commit adultery.
Now, bringing the government of this country on its knees through such a machination, is what I would call driven by real hate. The Liberal are upset with Bush because he "stole" the elections, and because his margins were so doubtful, they expected him to indeed practice "passionate conservatism", instead, he yielded to the neo cons and rule this country without any compromise.
