I was thinking of the WMD gassing of the Kurds and the Iranians

And I think our current war against Islamic fanatics started with Carter who engineered the destruction of the Shah

we have finally gone on the offensive after nearly 30 years playing defense/containment

Our plan for winning is to place freedom within the reach of the Islamic people of the ME -- they will have to earn it by killing the fanatics.

It is terrible that so many die in these wars -- my view is the 50 million died in ww2, most because the democracies were so reluctant to face the clear evil before them

Similar facts have existed for some time now -- the danger is real today -- it also could run to deaths in the millions
