Sun City is an unincorporated area within Maricopa County, it is not a city, and therefore there is no city government.

The community of Sun City was created as an active, senior retirement community and maintains a
Federal Age Overlay whereby the age limitation is built into the deed restrictions. At least one
resident of a Sun City property must be 55, and anyone under 19 cannot live in a Sun City residence.

Senior Care is a huge industry in Sun City, the health care
industry makes a shitload of money off of these people every year.

Sun City has many community centers, one of which is 77,000 square feet. Any one of these
centers could have hosted this “Town Hall” instead of it being held in a religious institution.

Racial Diversity: It’s 98.44% White, 0.51% Black or African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.30% Asian,
0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, 1.00% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

79.8% of residents are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 75 years..

In 2000 the median income for a family was $40,464. – (fyi – that’s retirement income including social security)

These people are not representative of Arizona. No matter how many
