It boils down to compassion for others which on the surface the GOP doesn't seem to have. Each time there is a GOP president i.e., Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr., etc., the corporate economic world falls apart and we usually get into war mongering talk. i.e., the savings and loan crises in the Reagan years, the recession in the Bush Sr year with a war to bring us out, and Bush Jr., great policy of no government which helped put our country in world and economic standing at the bottom of the barrel for the past 8 years with an 8 year war on terror or Iraqi freedom or whatever it is about to boot.
