Bob, with regard to the "ignore" topic ...

Would it be practical to offer the ability to step through a board by going from one "Person Marked" poster to the next?

This gives the user the option of (a) reading all the posts or (b) following what are (to the user) the most important posters. This allows going back to the source of a topic by clicking on the message number the poster is responding to, backing up to the previous post(s), or continuing with "Next" or "Next 10". This approach allows users to allocate their time as they see fit.

Would it be a programming nightmare?

Would it put an unreasonable strain on the system?

I don't know the answers to the questions.

(I believe "gotmilk" made a similar suggestion, but I'm not sure.)
