Arable derived from Arabic? Not really, it is from Latin, (Arare, to plow), the root Arab, or Erev is derived from "west", and from there are derived world like semi-desert (Arava). As I often say, "Ana Kurdi, Mush Arab". The roots from plowing are very different in semitic languages.
