Two really nice things about Pandora: 1) it is entirely free, and 2) You design your own radio stations, but not more than 99 separate channels. I have a dozen so far, and when I expect to spend a few hours on line I open Pandora, pick one of my stations, turn it on, then minimize the screen and come here to read what my friends are up to while listening to the kind of music I like most.
I'm cheap, and 'free' is one of my favorite words. And I've designed several stations that please me. I like classical, so I have a J S Bach station and another that favors Glenn Gould, the world's greatest classical pianist, long dead now. I have a banjo station, a Canadian Brass station and others. Takes a few minutes to set up but when I feel the need for Bossa Nova beat, I have a station that does nothing else. The price is right.
