Who'd a thought? ESL Investments owns 15.41 million shares of CIT as of the latest institutional ownership report I read. That's Eddie Lampert and Kmart BK fame. Wonder when he become an owner of so many shares here and what his ideas were. Interesting. Plus Fidelity Management and Research is heavy into the preferred shares here and the common. FMR was very instrumental in getting Healthsouth back on sound pps footing when it fell to 14 cents a share back in the debacle days of Scrushy run meltdown. They saved it from BK and look where it went afterward. Early on FMR was responsible for getting it back up fairly rapidly to the mid 1.50's from that 14 cents. Funny, CIT here seems to gravitate to the 1.40's off and on through this unstable time. Deja vu here in CIT with some of these previous institutions. Wow. Good luck to all here.
