As I understand the structure of the companies, and I could be wrong, Heartland is a subsidiary of UPVD. They converted a 5M debt to preffered shares and now own 70% of the voting stock. All the leases for the coal bed methane in Kansas are assigned to Heartland plus some wells in Texas. The CEO of UPDV and the other subsidiaries, along with Heartland is the same man. Tim Brink. In June they made a pledge to generate revenue more aggressively, and restore shareholder confidence. They seem to have stepped up the pace on the first one, but many of us have been impatient because we can not seem to get any regular PRs from the company.
The grants for Green Energy are basically funds from the tax payers to be more aggressive in capturing the methane gas for fuel. It is supposed to be more eco-friendly than oil. We have no proof that any grants are assigned to Heartland at this time. It would not surprise me if they pursued the grants to aquire funds for more exploation and wells.
I am still reading and learing too. Complicated, if you ask me.
