chunga1 -- ah, got it -- those superballs didn't have many superbounces in 'em anyway -- tried hitting one with a bat (just) once -- got a real good swing on it, was all set to watch it disappear into the distance, lost forever -- damned thing exploded, like with real 'shrapnel' you didn't want to get in the way of, lol
course the strikeout wasn't a yard game with the rubber ball (sure with a whiffle, we did that too) -- we were lucky, there was a school with lotsa open field with a few trees beyond some paved, janitor didn't mind us throwing at the wall so long as we stuck with the all-rubber balls (as v. the rubber-coated baseballs, which every once in awhile some knuckleheads would use and risk getting us all kicked out)
