chunga1 -- with those Superballs ( http://www.wham-o.com/default.cfm?page=ViewProducts&ProductID=22&Category=9 ; http://www.ideafinder.com/history/inventions/superball.htm )? -- I remember when those came out, was a big deal -- how far could you punch one?

we never did punch ball -- how did that work? -- did someone 'pitch' it to you? -- or did you just toss it up and punch it?

our thing was strikeout -- regular (wood) bats -- Louisville Sluggers -- and those all-regular-rubber balls exactly the size of baseballs -- the good ones, the high-quality rubber that lasted -- 2-man game, if we were lucky with another kid to stand out in the field and throw back balls hit long -- strike zone drawn on a wall facing an open area, ideally with some trees to knock down the long blasts -- pitch and hit, pitch and hit, 9 innings
