MH, i am trying to be objective in saying Kerry has run as bad a campaign i can recall in my lifetime.
i truly believe Bush was very beatable.
My wife who will go through motions and vote for Kerry, but she even says that wimpy flip-flopping Kerry bares the shame of this very likely defeat.
The many many millions of ABBers now have to decide what next and if they don't realize the democratic party is now a dead ship adrift at sea without power and without sails, then they are in deep denial.
I wrote awhile back that passion creates change and stated that when the CRW movement commenced years back they were a movement with coviction passion and were ready to play down and dirty to build to grabbing power and they did it.
While the liberals sleeped walked in civility and a growing fear of doing something to disturb the CRW movement on some deep delusion that they could get enough of the CRW to vote democrat if they remained civil and threw right wing crumbs to the CRW.
Democrats should have realized they were never going to get any of the hard-core Bush/CRW vote, ever.
The ABBers now must work like the CRWs did to control precinct by precinct, school board after school board, and to get the candidates they want in office which means they need work to throw all out democrats of Democratic Machine and bring in new vital left leaning candidates.
If the ABBers can't do that in the aftermath of this disgracefully anemic Kerry campaign, then they MUST BREAK with Democratic Party and create a third party.
As matters stand now, the democratic party is dead.

What was the biggest factor that swung the swing vote to Bush?
I feel it was this, many swing voters thought since Kerry says he would have voted for the war even if he knew their was no Al Queda link or WMDs and he is going to pursue this war on being elected then why change the leaders in the middle of a war, that , to them, doesn't seem wise.
Kerry singlehandily annihilated the Iraq War issue at all levels including that Bush and company broke every rule in the book to get this war to happen.
His performance was a disgrace.
A candidate with no convictions, no passion; and a charisma reading of zero that flip-flopped on issues like a dying fish flapping and flipping out of water.
The Democratic party are now cryig out to Kerry to get tough get decisive, this but the desperation of those on sinking ship.
People who say i don't believe polls have grounds if the spread was but 4%.
But let's say the polls do have a 4% error margin, that means Kerry is behind by 7% at best and behind 15% at worse.
Now the hard reality is of 9 incumbents that were ahead(at all) in the polls going into September , 8 have won.
i have taken the position Bush is the winner based on the historical well established pattern---and what a sad affair this has all been.Max
