You're right, he drives Reps crazy and conservatives in general. Fortunately, I think he's hurting the Democratic party. While I hate his extreme views, since the Democrats were so quick to latch on to his movie and embrace it, I think it will inevitably hurt them tremendously. WHether you want to say that Democrats hate George Bush, or Democrats are weak on defense, or Democrats are afraid to stand up when faced with danger, I think Fahrenheit 9/11 supports these stereotypes rather beautifully.
John Kerry doesn't need to prove he hates GWB, he already has the voters that feel that way. He needs to prove to everyone that he's strong on defense or else he's history. His rhetoric of going back to the U.N. and not fighting the war against Iraq or fighting a more compassionate war only hurts him. And everytime one of these liberal actors or directors or whoever stands up and makes some comment against the war, or everytime one of his liberal supporters is seen protesting outside some event, it does even more damage to his credibility as a commander in chief.
