I doubt it due to the uncertainty of outcome and I've never heard contingency mentioned in the Scanbuy case. I know Iain stated Neom works with some on a contingency basis but I'd be reluctant to believe so. Find me a law firm that will work on a contingency basis for a company that has no revenues ala what would they (lawyers) have gained thus far?
I stand to be corrected if somebody knows better.
<EDIT> If the Scanbuy case is on a contingency basis, I'd say screw a settlement - set a precedence with a court victory. I'd fear the result if the Scanbuy case was on contingency Why? Usually a contingency is based off a percentage. e.g. 30% with no trial 40% plus associated court fees if trial occurs. Now if the outcome is a licensing agreement - how would that affect their cut? I dunno perhaps claw can chime in. I would think Neom is also suing for attorney fees incurred of which IMO would be best. Flat fee at the end - done deal..
