I have the issue in my possession , but i don't know if it can be gotten from New Yorker site; but Seymour wrote of Plan B in New Yorker several months ago.
I would say from that Israel's fear of Iran takes priority over their relationship with Turkey.
They see Kurdistan as the perfect place to form an alliance as the Kurds
are isolated, hated on all sides, non-arabics in an arabic world.
They are desperate for a friend, any friend and Israel sees an opportunity.
The Kurds do have a significant army, a favorable terrain and share their border with Iran.
And they tend strongly to be secular( this ignoring the fanatic talibanistic kurds that Zarqawi joined up with)
i, or someone, need track down Seymour Hersh ariticle on this, hope someone posted that article.
