In all these years, never had that happen to me.

I think the company has the list of the holders that have taken delivery only. Brokers are not going to the expense of informing all companies of all stockholders holding stock in street name, IMO.

The company is in the dark as much as we are. Exceptions can be when a holder contacts management about selling. Asking, as example, if they know of anyone wanting shares. The same could be true for someone wanting to buy.
