A lot of misinformation in this "news" release from FedEx. The FACT is that both UPS and FedEx deliver 2.5 million express packages on a daily basis. At both companies, the packages travel by air, but are DELIVERED by truck drivers -- not pilots. Given that FedEx just reported an $800+ million loss -- why spend millions of dollars on a publicity campaign to convince people that packages are delivered by airplanes? Why is FedEx the ONLY company in the express delivery business to have its truck drivers governed by a law meant for airline pilots? Same labor laws should govern the same jobs. That's a level playing field. And when companies compete on a level playing field, the marketplace can determine success.
