EMA/SMA shift doesn't work.

Moving averages are available as a price overlay feature on SharpCharts2. From the price overlay option, you can choose either a simple moving average or an exponential moving average. The first box to the right is used to set the number of time periods. If charting on daily periods, then 50 would be for a 50-day moving average. If charting on weekly periods, then 50 would be for a 50-week moving average. The second box can be used to shift the MA lines to the left or right by a specified number of periods. The moving averages are based on closing prices and multiple moving averages can be overlaid the price plot.

Does not work.

In the current version, I use SMA [50] [0] and SMA [50] [10]. The lines are equal. Likewise the second as SMA [50] [-10] the lines are equal.

When I used the Version 4 (per the last FP reply), the same examples above - show up as different lines (never equal). I can see in the box SMA "50,10" or "50,-10" and visually see the shift.

Nothing says it is not available for lurkers - my impression was that everyone would have functionality but that the number of overlays was restricted.

Hence a bug or incorrect documentation.

Charly/Cush - where are we with V4? Weeks? Months? Q2/Q3 of 2005? Enquiring minds...

Further, based on what I am seeing, the ability to post charts outside of SC will no longer be supported?
