As my Aunt recently said "Giannini would be turning in his grave" BAC had a proud history in California and it startled me recently when I hear CNBC refer to it as a North Carolina bank, although I guess it is. We still have our checking there because I haven't put the effort into changing it, and over the last few months have had occasion to go into the bank a few times and they were heavily marketing relatively high return CD's as an almost totally liquid alternative to savings. The amazing thing was that you could withdraw penalty free after 6 days, even though it was a 9 mos CD. Seems very fishy. They seem to have stopped marketing them, I guess they achieved their goals.
