A fascinating read that I'm going to have to ponder for a while.
My initial reaction is that, if it's all true, the widespread hatred of Americans, including in the middle East, is well-founded but misplaced.
I followed the accompanying links, especially because I was curious about the assertion that Hussein was placed in power by the CIA, but didn't find the detailed info I was looking for. Specifically any allegations that this was the reason he wasn't taken out in the Gulf War when he could have been so easily.
I'm so apolitical that I've purposely kept myself ignorant of things like what that article discusses (I've got enough on my mind), but will change that because of two allegations I found very shocking: That the CIA is completely unchecked by the citizenship (vicariously through its elected officials) of the country, and that 42% of the nation's private wealth is kept by 1% of its citizens. 22% sounds reasonable to me. Nearly half doesn't. Especially with the insinuation that so much of this wealth is controlled by the CIA or vice versa.
