Would have been required chattel against financing, as 1000:1 convertibles no less (some financing that must have been).

If they were sold it was because he was forced to cough up his company on default of loan.

Any other reason and the man is totally wacky. You don't throw the baby out with the bathwater unless you are terribly desperate.
