If China is using the Sudan as a platform from which to launch its involvement in the Middle East oil sector and we are supposedly infiltrating Egypt to keep a tight lid on Nile tributaries, I would say Israel is about to get a new rather large neighbor.

All of a sudden, then, a region that is dominated by oil firms from the US and Europe has a new player from the Far East. Given China's fast growing demand for oil, the likelihood is that its presence in the Middle East will grow significantly over the next few years.
China sees Sudan as a platform from which to launch its involvement in the Middle East oil sector as a whole. #msg-3824481
Mekki also referred to heavy presence of western intelligence agents in Darfur, in what he called "bids to remap western Africa and tighten control of the neighboring Arab heavyweight".
"They want to infiltrate Egypt and keep a tight lid on Nile tributaries, necessary for Egyptians to survive." #msg-3680101
Here it is albeit the tip of the iceberg.

Egypt says ready to promote ties with China
UPDATED: 10:51, August 16, 2004
Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazef said on Sunday in Cairo that his country was ready to further promote strategic and cooperative relations with China.
Nazef made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Yi, according to a Chinese embassy source.
Nazef said that Egypt regards China as a reliable friend and is willing to deepen its cooperation with China in political, economic, trade, scientific, technological and educational fields.
Egypt welcomes Chinese investment, and Chinese enterprises could see Egypt as a springboard for expanding their businesses in Africa, the Middle East and Europe, the prime minister said.
Egypt is also interested in learning from China's experience in its reforms and development drive, Nazef added.
For his part, Wang said that Egypt is one of the first group of developing countries to establish strategic ties with China, and China is prepared to strengthen strategic dialogue with Egypt and further expand cooperation with Egypt.
During his stay here, Wang also met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit.
Wang arrived here on Thursday. He will conclude his five-day visit Monday.
