The existence of 24 Honk Kong bank accounts may be because H.K.'s version of the U.S.A.'s FDIC may only insure deposits up to $100,000 ( or whatever amount ) .....therefore numerous accounts were needed just in case there were bank failures where money in excess of the insured amounts could be at risk .

Just speculation on my part .
