Re: Marketing

When companies don't have a lot of money to spend with conventional marketing channels going through Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. make a lot of sense if your audience is reachable through those channels. The services are free. I have enticed many people to join Ask Mr. Owl through Twitter. My concern is that their audience (should be IT decision makers?) may not be best reached through these channels specifically. Perhaps these channels are geared more towards investors? Are there specific on-line forums that IT professionals are most active in that Exobox could actively participate in to reach this key group? Are they participating in any of these specific forums? As an example, I advertise on Google, Microsoft and Yahoo keywords however, most of the responses to my ads come from this web site (perhaps you have seen the text ads below). The people on this site are targeted at investing whereas Google, Microsoft and Yahoo are somewhat generic and therefore the response rate is better for me here.
