ONXX: Wonder how can a big pharma modify its biotech partner product and get 100% of the next generation drug's sale. If there is a legal leeway to do that…?

It depends on the contract. Biotech partnership contracts typically contain explicit language on the respective parties’ rights to variants of the lead compound, which is why I’m surprised that there could be a disagreement regarding a variant as obvious as substituting an F for an H.

The point of the recent chemistry quiz on this board was to show how common this particular substitution is.
