View Additional ProfilesJAMAICA, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Janel World Trade, Ltd. (OTC Bulletin Board: JLWT), a full-service global provider of integrated logistics, today announced that its Environmental Projects Division has assembled a global consortium of Chinese and American companies that have joined as a team for the purposes of implementing an integrated six phase solution focused on restoring the health of Lake Tai, and other regional environmental projects in China. This six phase solution is focused on the immediate relief from algae growth, improvement of the water quality at Lake Tai, and a thorough assessment of the topography, hydrology, sediment displacement, and other characteristics to achieve a sustainable long term watershed plan. This group brings the latest technologies, including newly developed chemical solutions to help with immediate relief of algae, the latest in environmental technology platforms to assess the precise issues that are affecting the lake, and longer term monitoring technology to assess the progress of the solution to ensure China never loses this valuable and beautiful resource.

Paul McCreary, President of Janel's Environmental Project Group, stated from China, "We now fully understand that dredging alone can not effectively solve the water quality issues in China's lakes or rivers." He further commented, "All members of our environmental consortium are ready to assist Chinese and other global agencies in identifying and deploying state-of-the-art high tech methodologies in dealing with this crucial problem in East Central China."

The consortium features one of China's premier environmental consulting and financial management companies, Easen International Co., Ltd., along with their US partner Hard Hat Services, which has global experience in managing complex environmental projects. Weston Solutions brings a wealth of experience in global environmental and watershed restoration with leading edge environmental technology. pH Solutions, Inc. is the developer and patent holder of a newly patented chemical, ClearBlue 104(TM), a unique ionized copper sulfate that is highly effective in controlling algae spores and improving the quality of the water by reducing bacteria and coliform that is highly prevalent in the water in China. J SinoNRS provides China supply chain capabilities and domestic US transportation. Together, these companies represent the six phase approach that will be necessary to restore these critical watersheds to a dependable source of drinking water and continued source of recreation.

In May 2007, Lake Tai was overtaken by a major algae bloom and by major pollution with high levels of bacteria. The lake provides water to 30 million residents, including about two million in Wuxi. As of October 2007, the Chinese government had shut down or given notice to over 1,300 factories around the lake.
