Gail , you still have troubles with your pc ?
Uninstall Java (I suggest you use "Revo Uninstaller" (it's a free "uninstall-tool) > Do a register clean ( I suggest "Registry Winner 5" or "JV16 Powertools" ) > Install Java > Restart you PC
It looks almost impossible to me that it wouldn't work after this ... but you never know with windows and computers , that's for sure.
