Between you and me Midas, I see precious little of honest debate on these boards, and I have to agree with your comment that "We have lost our way as a society to debate and support our arguments through conversation."

What I find even sadder is the need by some to pidgeon-hole people in the 'left or right' camps wherein that becomes the issue, and thus the real and important political issues are never discussed and the so-called conversations are reduced to name-calling. It is a provincial, simplistic way of thinking and acting that protects the uninformed. Technology has indeed allowed for the dumbing down of our society.
