Phil,
Excellent point and a question that I did ask of the transfer agent. She stated that I could pay the fee myself however without the official list from Schwab she cannot verify me anyway so.... But, I did get a response from Schwab today on the matter and here is what I was told. 1. Schwab is acting on the issue of the fee being charged by the transfer Agent ($50). 2. They actually have engaged the SEC questioning the fee and how it serves the interest of the investor if the fee in some cases exceeds the value of shares held by investors to being with. 3. They have Schwab legal exploring whether it is even legal for the Transfer Agent to charge a fee higher than the worth of the distributed B shares. 4. Schwab legal has approached SEC about item #3 as well. You never know, those of you who were charged fees, may get that money back and at todays share price, can use it to purchase 3,800 shares or so. I will update you all on the results as they are shared with me.
