If they can railroad a 40 year sitting US Senator, what could they do to a regular citizen?

I don't think for one minute that if John Q got in their way, they wouldn't trump up some charges and put him in a dark cell somewhere.

Without a fair and honorable legal system the 'rule of law' that this republic was founded upon is totally paralyzed.

Limping badly now, imo
