Yeah, you're right. Companies aren't going to abandon the lines they're working with, unless a new line would increase efficacy or the government mandates it.

The patent might hold value if a conservative administration takes over. After the devastation the Bush administration inflicted on the world we probably won't be seeing one of those for a while.
