The Prescott/Nocona problems are now looking unsolvable:

And it is now making more and more sense that Intel threw in the towel on Tejas, etc.
Microsoft releasing the new SQL Server with AMD only support hints that Intel has quite a ways to go before they have even slow 64-bit support.
Implications for AMD are interesting. The market for server CPUs is about 2 million boxes per quarter which could mean as many as 3 million or more "server" CPUs. If AMD gets 1/3 of that market, it would mean about $350 million in incremental revenue, at gross margins of around 80%.
With AMD's increased production of desktop Athlon 64 chips finally beginning to catch up the big demand increase that has taken place as the general market has finally "heard" of AMD64 (CompUSA and Circuit City now have Athlon 64 desktops in stock at all stores, once again). AMD's desktop revenue and margins will also be improving.
$1.5+ Billion quarterly revenue $1+ per quarter earnings are still looking possible starting in Q4 of this year, and likely next year.
The key is that Athlon 64 desktops are back to being in stock at retail even as "back to school" sales are beginning (somewhat slowly this year, according to reports) - proof that AMD was sitting on idle production capacity that they were able to activate by "turning the knob."
