I'm certain the equipment we see being fabbed are not trees and 99% certain that they are parts of the production equipment related to umbilicals and LSFLs.

The umbilicals are part of the network required to supply power (electrical and hydraulic), data (fiber optic and/or copper conductors), and production chemicals to the trees which are at the top of each individual well in a field.

The big parts (nicknamed pizza ovens on mud mats) we see are probably hubs where the main umbilical breaks out to feed several trees in a cluster. HDUs or Hydraulic Distribution Unit is a pretty good guess what they are I think. Those would have a termination for a larger umbilical built into them and several ROV mate-able connection points for the loose steel flying leads that connect between the HDU and the trees or other seabed equipment like SAMs.
