How many times have we heard this "rationale" with other stocks?

A very recent example is heritage/protective [HCPC/PCSO] who did a 1 for 100,000 reverse split in December and was indicted by the FBI and DOJ for fraud.

How did the same "rationale" of shares owned at higher prices, etc work out for everyone there?
But it's going to be different this time...right?
