Different styles, the bottom of "boxes" more often than not anticipates a move back above the 10 DMA. Take ZBRA, for instance, it is now under the 10DMA, but the bottom of the box is $78/$79, IMTO, a good buying area. QCOM, the last time I bought back in at $70 and doubled at $67.67, were under the 10 DMA, but were also approaching box bottoms (and QCOM might get back under $69.5, the 10 DMA, where it might be an excellent place to complete the position in the $67.5 to $68.5 range). The danger is when the bottom of the box fails, then, yes, selling is called for, bu a simple sell when dropping under the 10DMA or buy above the 10 DMA may lead to too many whipsaws, IMTO. The same with CMN which was bought on Thursday at $23.55 under the 10DMA (with doubling if it gets to the $20/$21 range, since the bottom of the box is just under $20). I think that one may pay as well, we'll know in the fullness of time. My buy of SNDK before earning at $20.5 was also under the 10 DMA, it paid handsomely, the same with CCMP...
