My point was only that the numbers in shares and $$$ raised being bandied about, matter in a context... as does the result of the investments being made. I didn't want mine interpreted as saying it was a fact, when it was clearly postured as a parallel in logic, to point out the limits of others assumptions.
If they are succeeding in meeting their plans, as they say, that should make the point... in context...
Our discussions here have included awareness that they've been selling shares. If they're raising money in the market, well, that IS the purpose of HAVING a market. Whether the result is good for shareholders or not is ONLY a function of whether or not capital is used to advance the business and create more value than that which is consumed... and a function of the RATE at which the effort being enabled matters.
I don't think any company, ever, earns any exemptions from shareholder interest in how they are using the investors $$$... so I don't have any issue with those asking questions about what the company IS doing now. Clearly, there is a huge range of what companies actually DO with the $$$ they raise in the market... from using it wisely and generating a rapid ROI to using it directly to line the pockets of management without there being any real utility in the end result for investors.
That doesn't mean, as it seems it is being postured here, that using $$$ investors supply to pay employees salaries means $$$ is being pissed away. If they used the money to pay for a corporate jet and to party in Vegas... yeah, I'll be as pissed as any investor should be. If they instead use the $$$ to launch new products that put the company on a fast track to major product sales and new business segment successes and rapid growth... ???
So, that leaves this pretty much where it has been... with investors waiting to see the results that have been promised, which they say is happening, now... and, otherwise, nothing new here going on that we don't know about to be reported ??? Some here think the company is on the verge of breaking out... proving it is succeeding... others apparently think something else is going on... and we will find out "soon" which is right. Either they ARE meeting their goals or they are not meeting their goals ???
There is a difference between a company doing little to nothing that has no need to pay salaries, and a company in transition from new product development efforts to sales, poised to launch on a dramatic growth curve. Is it shocking that a company that is well poised for making money at an accelerating pace from sales of new products needs to raise capital ? Nope. Companies raise $$$ to grow new businesses at an more than organic rate when that makes sense to investors... as it seems it does to investors here.
The proper point of focus is the $$$ raised vs. the use of it in value created by its proper use... and if the impact of the $$$ expended is to bring in a lot more $$$ faster than is being expended to enable the flow ??? That works for me. I don't have a problem with a company raising capital and using it to generate profits. I have a bigger issue with others I follow now that have GREAT products and huge potential... that have been wholly unable, in this market, to raise the capital they need to develop their products, much less to succeed in selling them...
